Joann was born and raised in Newfoundland Canada. She fell in love with Jay who was American sailor stationed there. Jay and Joann have been married since July 30, 1994. They have 3 daughters; Torye, Jalynn and Vanessa. They also have 4 grandchildren.
Joann joined the staff in the spring of 2016. She loves what she is doing and couldn't ask for better co-workers.
Debbie is originally from Muncie, Indiana. After graduating high school, she spent 18 years moving from place to place as a military spouse and raising 5 daughters. Today, she and her husband Ed like to spend their free time enjoying life with their grandkids and riding their motorcycles with their law enforcement motorcycle club.
Debbie joined the staff in December 2016 and is very happy to be a part of the Lampasas First United Methodist Church.
Don began his ministry at First United Methodist Church, Lampasas in May, 2005 as Director of Contemporary Music. In October 2005, he took on the added responsibilities as Director of Music/Organist for the Traditional service. His duties also include directing handbell choirs and the Lampasas Community Cantata Choir which presents a Christmas cantata on the 2nd Sunday of December.
Don was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois. He began piano lessons at the age of 5, saxophone lessons at the age of 10 and church organ lessons at the age of 12. He played his first church service at age 12. He attended Chicago Musical College, VanderCook College of Music and graduated from American Conservatory of Music, Chicago, with a Bachelor of Sacred Music and Master of Music Education degrees.
He has served churches in Illinois, Oklahoma, Alabama, Kentucky, Ohio, Louisiana, Florida and Texas.
During his college and professional career he has held various positions performing various percussion instruments in the Chicago Symphony, Civic Symphony and Chicago Business Men's Orchestras. He worked his way through college as a percussionist substitute on the WGN-Bozzo Circus, substitute organist for the Chicago Cubs, Wrigley Field, assistant librarian for the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and choral sales for Carl Fischer Music Co. Chicago. He has also taught school in Ohio and worked as an assistant band director/tutor for junior and senior high school bands. He is in demand as an accompanist for area high school students for their UIL Solo and Ensemble competitions.
Courtney was born and raised in Lampasas. She has been with the church since March 1995. Courtney started as a nursery attendant while still in high school, then a few years later she became the Nursery Director. In October 2002, she became the Children's Church Director. Children's church, offered during both services, is an opportunity for children to learn about God in a fun and interactive way. All of Courtney's spare time is devoted to her nephew, Hunter and Holten. They keep her very busy!
