Don Peterson, Music Director
The Lampasas Community Cantata Choir will be presenting their annual Christmas cantata, The Song Heard 'Round the World by Joseph M. Martin on Sunday evening, December 10th at 5:00 p.m. in our church sanctuary. The Joy Ringers from our church will be presenting several handbell selections during the program. The cantata and Live Nativity will be followed with A Taste of Christmas, a reception filled with desserts by those attending and presenting the cantata. Since the theme of the cantata this year is music from 'round the world maybe some of you can bring a dessert that can only be found in other countries. All those attending is encouraged to bring your desserts to fellowship hall prior to the program so it may be enjoyed by everyone. Concluding the cantata, the youth of our church will be presenting a Live Nativity on the front lawn of our church. Thank you to Robert Lindsey and the youth for this extra special visual effect.
Some of you may be interested in attending one or both of our dress rehearsals for the cantata. These "open rehearsals" will be on Wednesday, December 6th and Thursday, December 7th, both evenings at 7:30 p.m. in the church sanctuary. All I ask is that you be as quiet as "church mice".
The Chancel Choir and Joy Ringers are busy preparing special music for our Sunday morning Advent and Christmas Eve services. Our weekly rehearsals have been filled with joy and laughter as these talented individuals learn new music and share their musical talent. I know our congregation will enjoy the music that will be presented. This year Christmas Eve will fall on a Sunday with special services in the morning and evening. Our services during Advent and Christmas Eve are very special to all of us which require additional singers. I'm asking members of our church who are singing in the cantata as well as other singers in our community to join us as we prepare for these services. Rehearsals for these special services will be on Wednesday, December 13th and 20th at 7:00 p.m.
God bless all of you during this holiday season.
