Welcome! We are glad you are interested in our music programs. We are made up of various groups that welcome all ages and musical abilities. Our mission is to be a welcoming group that invites its volunteers to “make a joyful noise” unto the Lord. Our most important role is to lead the congregation in worship during our Sunday services. Music is such an inspiring and deeply important way to draw closer to God, that is why we are always striving to have programs that reach for a high quality of musicianship. We realize there are many different musical abilities and we lead each group in an educational way that improves your talent, as well as have a lot of fun. If you are interested in joining any of our groups, please do not hesitate to email or call the front office. 512-556-5513 / firstname.lastname@example.org
The Chancel Choir is our traditional worship choir comprised of volunteers within the church and our community. We are an energetic and fun group that sings classical to modern choir arrangements. No experience is necessary to join, only that you love music and enjoy leading others in worship. The chancel choir meets on Wednesdays from 6:30 pm - 7:30 pm in the choir room. We lead worship every Sunday at our 11:15 am worship service, with a warm-up in the choir room at 10:45 am.
Joy Ringers is our handbell group that plays periodic anthems throughout the year. Our group is made up of beginner to advanced ringers. If you are new to music, this is a great place to get involved and have a whole lot of fun too! We meet on Wednesdays from 6 pm - 6:30 pm in the choir room, and perform about one anthem a month at our 11:15 am worship service. No experience is necessary to join.
Our praise band leads our contemporary worship service at 8:45 am. We meet on Tuesdays at 6 pm, Wednesdays at 7 pm, as well as Sunday morning at 8:00 am in our Wesley Fellowship Hall for practice. If you play an instrument or would like to sing with the band, please feel free to contact John Groves, our Contemporary Worship Leader, at 512-734-4093. We are a fun group that is made up of young to mature adult volunteers.
Our Christmas Cantata has been blessing the Lampasas Community with an outstanding Christmas Concert for 73 years now! The musicians that perform are entirely made up of volunteers throughout our community representing several churches. It features a fantastic choir, soloists, and instrumentalists as a live nativity that is performed by our very own youth group. It truly is the highlight of our music season! If you are interested in being a part of this wonderful event, we begin rehearsals on the first Wednesday beginning in October at 6:30 pm - 8 pm in our main Sanctuary. The rehearsals continue up until the performance which is held on the Second Sunday of December.
